Saying Goodbye: A Farewell Note

Tribute Founders: Sarah Moore (left) and Sarah Haggard (right).

Eight years ago, I embarked on a mission to enhance the social fabric of organizations.

In founding Tribute, we set out to transform workplace connections by fostering meaningful relationships, enabling continuous learning, and driving organizational growth. Our mission extended to revolutionizing workplace knowledge management and sharing—making it seamless, accessible, and impactful. We integrated seamlessly into daily workflows through Slack and Microsoft Teams apps, making connection simple and effective. With Smart Connections™ technology, we mined institutional knowledge to make solving complex problems more efficient. Tribute became more than a tool—it catalyzed workplace transformation.

Over the years, we had the opportunity to work with world-class enterprise organizations including Microsoft, Zillow, Coinbase, Carta, Sonos, and more. We heard powerful stories of how Tribute impacted individuals and organizations:

I have asked all of my previous employers for something like this, but we’ve never had anything close.
— Carta Employee

Teaching others through mentorship has a 90% retention rate of learning. With remote and hybrid work, digital tools like Tribute are critical.
— Corina Kolbe, VP, Talent Success

Things are clearly tipping into a hybrid world. You have to think of new ways to do things that used to happen a little more naturally or organically like mentorship. From my perspective, Tribute is a really exciting app just at the time companies need it.
— Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President, Modern Work

These testimonials remind us of the positive change we’ve driven and the importance of our work in building more connected and supportive workplaces.

Why We’re Closing

Despite the strides we’ve made, every journey faces its challenges. The decision to close Tribute was not made lightly but reflects the realities of our business environment. While the vision remains strong, we’ve recognized that it’s time to step back and make room for new ideas and solutions to flourish.

Gratitude and Farewell

To our customers, partners, and team members—thank you. Thank you for believing in Tribute, for sharing our passion, and for bringing our mission to life. Your support has been invaluable, and your stories will always inspire us.

As we close this chapter, we remain committed to the idea that meaningful connections are at the heart of every thriving organization. Tribute may be ending, but the lessons learned and the connections formed will endure.

What’s Next?

While Tribute’s platform will sunset, we encourage organizations to continue prioritizing connection in the workplace. Whether through new tools, practices, or simply a renewed focus on human relationships, the work we’ve started can and must continue.

Thank you for being part of Tribute’s journey. Here’s to the connections that bring us together and the possibilities that lie ahead.
