Our story begins like so many others: frustrated with the inadequate experience with traditional mentorship programs. From signing people up on spreadsheets, to manually tracking outcomes, to feeling stuck in yearlong engagements, it was a lot of work for not much reward.
In contrast, we thought mentorship should be accessible on-demand, integrated into the flow of work, and centered around the whole person. Our vision was to build an app that would connect individuals seeking guidance with peers, on-demand, enabling seamless knowledge transfer and fostering personal and professional growth.
Our early customers loved our innovative approach to mentorship. They were delighted to be able to offer their employees a more flexible and dynamic learning experience. With Tribute, their employees could connect with peers who shared their wisdom, experiences, and practical advice, on-demand. We grew quickly, forging partnerships with industry leaders and attracting early customers including Microsoft, Zillow, Coinbase, Sonos, and Carta.
Our Evolution
Over time, we noticed a pattern. Our customers were finding value in our solution far beyond mentorship. We frequently heard from clients, “This is about the power of human connection and finding your true potential.” Advancements in AI technology also presented us with new opportunities to provide users with a deeper understanding of their own talents and areas for development. We realized that by leveraging technology and new learner insights, we could empower individuals in ways that were previously unimaginable.
